It won't take as long to learn modern as it did to learn classic though, not because it's easier to input (it's not two buttons to do some normals CAN be harder), but because you already know some of the game. I am personally holding judgement on classic vs modern until I've investigated it more, but my initial gut feeling is that there will be some characters where classic will dominate, some where modern will, and some where it could be either. I'm pretty sure this means if it says dragon punch you're not just hitting forward and special, but actually using the dp motion to make it happen.Īt a certain point it becomes knowing what to do in different situations given the tools available to you at the time. I am curious about modern controls since they did give some definite disadvantages to using them (10% damage reduction, seems to use drive gauge when doing the whole assist combo).įrom the limited time I've used it, there are definitely some nuances that I need to investigate like getting an uppercut from a down hard but getting a sweep from a down forward hard or in the combos section there are combos that say a special move with an active or activate. ![]() It seems like Capcom is trying something new and wants you to try it too with as it is the way you have to go to switch from the default modern to classic. You might be a little harsh in your assessment of the people using modern controls. ![]()
